When Angie found some of her own clothes in Mayhem's toy box, she came up with an idea. "One day I told her, 'I bet we can make a dress out of paper.'"

The first dress Mayhem made, with paper and masking tape.

Chapman was unhappy when shopping for her own wedding gown 16 years ago, which prompted her to launch a bridal boutique in an area lacking such quality expertise."It created a desire for me to establish an environment for brides that was fortable and that offered gowns that were all of one hand and taste level," Chapman said.In other words, she had found that too many salons tried to be everything to every bride. It's really about referencing the trends, but really finding the right dress that's perfect for you."We hit Dillard's, Bells and Bows on Spring Hill, and Susan's Shoppe on Old Shell and interviewed experts to help make sense of this season's trends. The pastel trend is good news for Theodore High School student Glennan Silcox, 17, who was dress-shopping at Dillards on a recent Friday evening. "I'm a peachy girl," she said. "I have pale skin, so pastels are good for me."Silcox's shopping helper and Theodore High School classmate Lauren Boyd, 17, said she already purchased a pastel blue-green dress. For brides on a budget H&M just made it a little easier to bring that cost down about $1,000.But a question still remains: are H&M and Target actually selling ridiculously cheap wedding dresses? Or are those who shell out thousands at bridal boutiques paying way too much?NPR Planet Money's Caitlin Kenney set out to answer this question in 2011. She paid $2,Paper Tissue Honeycomb Balls700 for her wedding dress, bag suppliers but as she chatted with wholesale fabric sellers, tailors, and economists who guessed her cost at $1,500, she started to second-guess her purchase.

However, she found that ultimately it"es down to two economic principles. Asymmetric information, which basically means the customer brides to be has far less information about the garment than the manufacturers and don't have practice buying dresses, therefore they are less informed consumers. Second, is signaling. This is the idea that a wedding dress is far more than a dress it symbolizes the overall message a bride sends with her garment. From a bride's perspective, the dress can signal the importance she places on her wedding.

On Monday, H&M announced it would be producing a $99 wedding dress. The gown is Grecian-inspired, with a high neckline, gathered waist, and floral beaded embellishments. It isn't the Sweden-based retailer's first go at wedding dresses, but it is its cheapest. And the move has brides taking a second look at their wedding day purchase. This is a far cheaper alternative to most wedding gowns. The Association of Bridal Consultants found that wedding dresses cost $1,053 on average. The popularity of shows like "Say Yes to the Dress" and "Something Borrowed, Something New" show women frequently paying over $1,000 for dresses at high end boutiques.

In 2010, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department adopted a policy banning tattoos or body art that were visible when deputies wore a short-sleeved summer uniform shirt. Under the policy, any deputy who had a visible tattoo prior to adoption of the new policy was allowed to keep it, but new recruits being considered for a job are asked if they would be willing to have a tattoo removed as a condition of employment, sheriff's department spokesman Cpl. It has been a lot of fun to watch [cameras]

Among Mayhem's favorites is the red dress actress Lupita Nyong'o wore at the Golden Globes, which Angie says took 10 minutes to make. Another fun one to make was Katy Perry's musical notes dress, which the singer wore to the Grammy Awards this year.Though she is a photographer, Angie says she has no fashion background at all "I wear the same jeans and t shirt every day," she jokes. But she can see that Mayhem may just have a calling. For now, paper drinking straws though, disposable wooden cutlery making dresses with her daughter is less about fashion and all about bonding. It all began when Angie found her own clothes hidden inside Mayhem's toy box. The mom then suggested that they try creating a dress out of construction paper, and now Mayhem is the one calling all of the designer shots. The pair use anything from construction and toilet paper to masking tape and glue sticks. While Mayhem isn't old enough to use a pair of scissors, she stands by and directs her mom Angie so that she will cut just the right piece out.

"It has been a lot of fun to watch. She has learned that when you put the pieces flat next to each other, they won't work. [She knows that] to fit around your waist, you have to lay it at an angle," Angie explained to the Today Show. "She could layout construction paper right now and tape it all together into a dress. She knows how many pieces she needs for a top and bottom."

Pulling Inspiration From Celebs

Although the idea originally involved creating their own designs, now Angie likes to pull ideas off of the internet for Mayhem to replicate. Angie says that the replica of Lupita's dress only took ten minutes, and it's one of Mayhem's favorite looks!
